Our Process

Below is a summary of the process I take from initial meeting with the client to final product. For the example below, I have used the Fudgelling Logo, however the process will develop in similar stages for all projects.

Briefing

Like every design job, my process first starts with a briefing, whether by a phone call, email or the preferable sit-down conversation. The objective of this step is to get as much information as possible as to what is needed and the background of the clients preferences.

Sketching

This process can be synonymous with the first if there is visual communication involved or a sit-down conversation.

The sketches are usually very rudimentary at this stage, involving quick scribbles. Working with the client with clear communication, the development of ideas can progress. This benefits myself and the client in establishing real goals and expectations of how the final product may look.

The Inspiration for this particular project came from David Rollyn, as requested by the Client. It was synonymous with the preferred style, concept and living situation of both the inspiring artist and the client herself.

Basic Concept

At this stage I create a variety of basic concepts and colours for the clients to enable further dialog and a deeper understanding of their requirements.

Realisation of concepts may lead to a return to the drawing board or a continuation of the projects development.

Further Concepts

Adding and subtracting with continual conversations with the client.

Establishing Final Concept

From several options that have been discussed and presented, the conversations continue, beginning to focus down on a final concept to be worked on.

Cleaning Up

Trimming unnecessary elements in order to produce a clarity of design. Simple is often better and this stage is designed to establish the cleanest and simplest final product.

Finals Release

The final product captures the purpose in the best possible way.
Final copies and design media are now released to the client.
